A timeline of the milestones that shaped Synergy Taekwon-Do Club — updated as our story grows.
Our journey began outdoors in the compound of a small local kindergarten — armed with just a few kick pads, an open space, and a passion to teach.
STC becomes officially registered with Pesuruhjaya Sukan Malaysia (Commissioner of Sports Malaysia) — marking our step into a fully recognised sporting body.
30 March 2014 — Sekolah Menengah Agama Se-Malaysia Taekwon-Do Challenge (SMASTEC 2014), Synergy Taekwon-Do Club won the Overall Champion title. One of our athletes also received the Best Male Performance award.
In 2015, Synergy Taekwon-Do Club organized the National Invitational & Intercontinental Taekwon-Do Championship, attracting close to 1,500 participants from several countries — making it the biggest tournament STC has ever hosted.
26 Mar 2016 — SAM BESTARI National Inter-Islamic Schools Taekwondo Championship Organized by STC · Hosted at SAM BESTARI 🏆 Overall Champion — Synergy Taekwon-Do Club
In 2017, Synergy Taekwon-Do Club competed in the Kejohanan Taekwon-Do (WTF) Sekolah-Sekolah Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, securing 2nd place in Kyorugi (Sparring) for the 7–9 years age category.
STC sent 2 students to represent Malaysia at the 2017 ITF Korea Open International Festival and Asia Taekwon-Do Championship — bringing home a silver medal in Pattern and a silver medal in Sparring.
STC sent 2 coaches to represent Malaysia for ITF World Championship Buenos Aires, Argentina 2018, with Sabum Faisal Hj Mustaffa serving as Head Coach. The Malaysian flag was handed over by YBhg. Mr. Jefri Ngadirin, then Director of the Sports Management Division at the National Sports Council (MSN) Malaysia — now Director-General of MSN.
In March 2019, Synergy Taekwon-Do Club organized the Synergy Taekwon-Do Championship 2019, held at Dewan Sekolah Bukit Damansara. The tournament drew close to 300 participants.
Operating from our flagship Synergy Training Center in Seri Kembangan, STC has trained over 3,000 students worldwide under the leadership of Sabum Faisal Hj Mustaffa.
STC celebrates 20 years since that first class in 2007 — a milestone two decades in the making, with a lineup of exciting activities on the way. Stay tuned.
